Are you interested in eating a home-cooked meal with your family and friends
(without doing the cooking or cleaning up)?
Are you interested in exploring the big questions of life?
Questions such as: What is my purpose in life? What about God? Why does God allow suffering?
Are you interested in feeling like you belong?
At Alpha, we share a home-cooked meal together, we talk about the big questions of life, and develop great new friendships.
WHAT IS THE ALPHA COURSE?
Alpha is a ten-week course designed specifically for people who would like to investigate and discuss the Christian faith. The Alpha Course provides a safe and nonthreatening environment to ask questions about God, faith, and life.
WHO IS ALPHA FOR?
The Alpha Course is for everyone - regardless of religious or spiritual background. It's especially geared for those who would not call themselves a Christian and who don't regularly attend church. It's also for those who simply want to learn the basics of the Christian faith.
WHAT HAPPENS AT ALPHA?
Dinner - Each evening begins with a home-cooked meal. It's a great chance to unwind from the day and get to know other people.
The Talk - Each week we will present a thought-provoking talk on various issues relevant to the Christian faith, including: How does God guide us? Can there be any certainty in faith? Why is there so much pain and suffering in the world? Is there historical evidence to support Christianity? Is the Bible trustworthy? And more...
Table Time - After the talk there is a relaxed and low-pressure time to discuss any questions or issues raised from the evening's topic. This provides an opportunity to get to know each other and learn together.
WHEN AND WHERE IS THE ALPHA COURSE?
We hold separate sessions in the fall and in the spring. The fall semester begins in mid-September and concludes in December. The spring semester begins in mid January and concludes in April.
We meet in the lower level of the North Building located on the Bloomingdale Church campus. (There is a sign that says Alpha in front of the entrance).
Alpha takes place on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:25 PM .
WHAT DOES THE ALPHA COURSE COST?
There is NO CHARGE for attending the Alpha Course. The only charge will be for those who choose to participate in the overnight get away.
